Ahmadinajad, Lennon. Imagine:

Imagine there’s no Israel.
It’s easy if you try.
Imagine no Great Satan.
We’ve blown them all sky high.

Imagine desolation
in the whole Western Hemisphere…

YouHoooo.  You may say I’m a dreamer.
BUT I’M NOT THE ONLY ONE!
And if some day you don’t join us
We’ll find you with our guns.

  1. My dear old friend Bob:

You are so smart, so intelligent… But, you seem to talk crazy here on your political, world-event, right-wing (I suppose), forum, as if you were blind to reality….

I went into mental illness for a time about a decade ago (also cancer)… I worked hard each and every single day to get well. The things that helped the most, after going back to basics, were education, philosopy, and art (along with medical help from doctors and psychiatrists). I changed quite a lot and am no longer recognizable to the “old guy” (as confirmed by people who have known me for over 20 years). Most noticably would be that others (qualified sorts) have determined me to be more of a realist than the idealist I had been in a former life. This is good. This means I see things as they really are and am pragmatic about where I stand. I’m not a “flaming Liberal”, but I am no longer a “card carrying” Republican (as I had been since I was 18 and could vote). I also still converse with Sharon, who has lived in Tel Aviv, Israel for many years now.

I am open. Since I have started to converse with you via your webs, I notice that you are more and more closed. For instance, only you can see your responses to your Essays, whereas, you used to let everyone see all conversations. I also notice that you (probably, naturally) are selective about to whom you answer responses. Sometimes this has made sense because I have noticed other people who have seemed to have a “vendetta” out to answer every single statement you have made with a negative response. I wouldn’t answer them either. However, being more closed is probably not a good thing on your part if you, on the other hand, are attempting to have some sort of forum. I would open up this web to show all responses… Why not? At least it’s not connected with the business — a thing that MUST be protected from negatives of all sorts.

I have an idea that you might like. “Position Papers”. There it is in a nutshell. Maybe you can publish some stuff that, basically, states “where/what (princibles/themes) I stand”. These things may invite arguement on the one hand, but, on the other hand — these would be things you presently believe/stand on and are, therefore, “tough shit” for others.

I, myself, have gone through a process of writing “position papers” for my own self because the act of writing actually crystallizes thought at a specific time-point. For me, I had to do this to become sane again. Arguement was also there, but, it was more formalized for me since I knew where I last stood. This is helpful for progress.

To me, listening to your comments, I would say you are a Humanist “in spirit”, yet, somewhat blind to reality of the (political) world around you.

I also truely believe… No, I do know that you are an excellent communicator in the realm of teaching. You are a really bright guy too. I also know that you are amazing with holding down responsiblities and are highly ethical with yourself and with others around you.

But, you do have some weakness in thinking in the area of this present government…. And this, from a guy who cannot vote.
